In one word: Pastry-licious
Giving this mille-feuille a comparative score against all others I have blogged is hard because it is so far removed from a traditional vanilla slice. If I was just reviewing the pastry then it would score a 10/10, with beautiful, crisp, dark buttery sheets of puff pastry. However, other factors must be taken in to consideration; size, value for money, filling etc. At a rather small stature compared with most this mille-feuille did not have a small price tag to match - costing a hefty $7. Having said that, its appearance was rather pretty with decorative icing sugar and piped cream. With only subtle vanilla essence in the light whipped cream balls I felt it was lacking in taste from the filling and obviously overpriced. Very authentically French.
