In one word: Underbaked
I originally tried one of these about a year ago - I had a better experience that day. This slice looked really appetizing in the glass display case. And when I sampled the custard with my fork I thought it would be a sweet end to 2014. However when trying to cut the damn thing up I realised the pastry was not cooked. In fact, it was rather unpleasant and it left a nasty taste in my mouth. I found myself having to deconstruct it to try and get some enjoyment out of the creamy custard. Won't be doing that again.
