Pastry: Dark, thick, crisp, flaky, buttery 8.5 /10
Presentation: Neatly cut, triple layer, caramelized sugar topping 8/10
Value for money: $6.60 for a small piece, freshly baked, quality ingredients 7/10
Overall score: 8/10
The pastry was so dark and buttery, but a nightmare to consume freestyle, so the whole thing had to be broken down into smaller portions to save the custard from squeezing out. The top layer had an almost bruleed taste to it that gave it a rather nice sweetness. The creme patissiere was rather good, with a rich egginess that balanced the vanilla bean. Good, but pricey.
