Pastry: Pale but rigid enough 6/10
Presentation: Neatly constructed and finished 8/10
Value for money: $5.50 - Medium portion, sweet and sticky 7.5/10
Overall score: 7.1/10
I was dubious about how the gluten free aspect might affect the pastry, but to be honest it was quite normal in its makeup. It had just enough rigidity to handle being picked up with the heavy and sloppy filling. The custard was tasty, like that of a pudding mix custard, but less synthetic in flavour. It was cold, creamy and sweet. The fondant icing was excellently sticky and well decorated with chocolate. My daughter loved her vanilla cupcake, so all up we both left satisfied.
